About this item
- Pottery Ribs for Crisp Lines & Defined Forms: The Mudtools Shape 4 is one of the most distinctive pottery ribs in the lineup, built with a corner that creates a beautiful line on the clay. It’s ideal when you want cleaner definition, sharper transitions, and more character in the form.
- Multiple Shaping Profiles in One Tool: This pottery rib gives you more than one working edge – Shape 4 features two flat surfaces and three radiuses, making it easy to switch between smoothing planes, refining curves, and shaping transitions without changing tools.
- Flexible Material That Resists Wear: Like all Mudtools polymer pottery ribs, Shape 4 is made from a unique flexible material that is resistant to wear and the formation of burrs. With regular studio use, it becomes naturally burnished over time for an even smoother glide across clay.
- Color-Coded Flexibility for Every Preference: Choose the feel that matches your clay and working style – Red (Very Soft), Yellow (Soft), Green (Medium), and Blue (Firm). Each option offers the same Shape 4 profile with a different level of flexibility.
- Made in the USA by Mudtools: Designed by potter Michael Sherrill and trusted by ceramic artists worldwide. Built to last, easy to clean, and comfortable in the hand—every studio needs at least one.
