About this item
- The Original Mudtools Workhorse (Throwing, Smoothing, Compressing): Shape 2 is the firstborn in the Mudtools family—remade from Michael Sherrill’s favorite old rib and designed to be a dependable, everyday workhorse for pottery wheel throwing, smoothing, and compressing clay.
- Burnishes Over Time + Resists Burrs: Built from Mudtools’ unique polymer material engineered to resist wear and the formation of burrs. With normal studio use, the rib becomes naturally burnished—helping it glide even smoother as it breaks in.
- Signature Polymer Flexibility: Crafted from Mudtools’ proprietary polymer blend, the Shape 2 is flexible, durable, and glides over clay without sticking or dragging—leaving behind a flawless finish every time.
- Five Color-Coded Flexibility Levels: Pink (Ultra Soft) for the gentlest finishing touch; Red (Very Soft) for fine adjustments on delicate work; Yellow (Soft) for everyday balance; Green (Medium) for controlled shaping and compression; Blue (Firm) for structure and strength. Choose the flex that matches your clay body and technique.
- Made in the USA by Mudtools: Designed by potter Michael Sherrill and trusted by ceramic artists worldwide. Built to last, easy to clean, and comfortable in the hand—every studio needs at least one.
